My name is Miguel Azevedo Peres and I'm a Portuguese Restauranteur with a passion for bringing delicious food and warm hospitality to the table.
In 2014 I opened my own restaurant, Pigmeu, a restaurant serving only pork from head to toe in small dishes to share and sandwiches. Beside Our Campo de Ourique store we are usualy present in all street food festivals and other events and we also do catering for personal and companie events.
In 2015 I started to work as a private restaurant consultant for other companies helping them launch new restaurants and food products, or getting better results in their daily operations. Nowadays my team has a lot of people from different backgrounds, from chefs to marketeers, barmen, designers, instagram and social media specialists, etc...
I studied Culinary Arts at Estoril Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotel Studies. I worked in a lot of kitchens both in Portugal and Spain, from michelin stared restaurants, to small family restaurants. I also worked as a waiter and as operations manager in some of them. I've created my own wine, I've been responsible for launching an enoturism unit, a small cafeteria and a big restaurant.
Along the way I discovered my best quality:
I wasn't very good doing any specific thing, but I was good doing a lot of things. Knowing that, alowed me to become a very good restaurant manager. I started studying marketing, management, food chemistry, nutrition, reading more and more culinary and cocktail books, and working in different roles inside the restaurant and food businness until one day I decided to open my own place!
I'm obsessed with menu engineering, marketing strategies and food trends and passionate with restaurants, portuguese culture, wine, pork and simple food from around the globe.
